Service Learning 

Why?

The purpose of Service Learning is to carry out projects close to the issues dear to the community. For this reason, practical
activities, such as the reconstruction of a place or the enhancement of minor cultural assets can be carried out.

What?

Service learning actions can be the result of an APPLICATION of Problem-based Learning project (PBL)

  • Step 1: Clarify terms and concepts that are not fully
    understood
  • Step 2: Define the problem
  • Step 3: Analyse the problem
  • Step 4: Formulate a systematic inventory (i.e. schematise) of
    the explanations from Step 3.
  • Step 5: Formulate research objectives
  • Step 6: Collect additional information outside the group
  • Step 7: Synthesise and evaluate newly acquired information
  • Step 8: Formulating solution hypotheses

Evaluation

  • Step 9: Evaluate group work
  • Step 10: Evaluate personal work
